Kristen Lynn has proudly served as the Executive Director of Somerset Court of Goldsboro since 2023, bringing with her 14 years of experience and a deep passion for serving seniors in assisted living. Kristen’s journey into senior care began shortly after graduating high school, when she earned her CNA license and started working in a memory care community. It was there that she discovered her love for caring for the older generation and realized that this was more than just a career—it was her calling. Being able to serve the community where she was born and raised makes her role especially rewarding. To Kristen, Somerset Court is much more than a place to live; it is a family. Whether you are a resident, family member, team member, or visitor, she wants everyone who walks through the doors to feel welcomed, valued, and at home. Creating that sense of belonging is one of the things she treasures most about the Somerset Court community. Kristen understands that choosing an assisted living community for a loved one is an incredibly personal and vulnerable decision. She and her team never take that trust for granted. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending quality time with her family, coaching her children’s sports teams, and attending rodeos. Family and Faith are at the heart of everything she does, both personally and professionally.

Morgan Balio serves as the Business Office Coordinator at Somerset Court of Goldsboro. She joined this team in 2026 but has spent the last five years serving in senior living communities. She has always known she wanted to work in healthcare because making a difference in the lives of others has always been her passion. One of the most rewarding parts of her work is building meaningful relationships with residents and becoming like family to them through genuine connections. She describes Somerset Court as a little slice of heaven, where residents receive the love, support, and compassion they deserve. She is proud to be part of a team that she feels shares her morals, values and is truly dedicated to putting residents first and enhancing their quality of life. She is CNA certified and hopes to return to nursing school next year to complete her education. Outside of work, she enjoys making handmade soaps and body care products designed for sensitive skin.

Emily Odom serves as the Life Enrichment Coordinator at Somerset Court of Goldsboro. This is her first job in healthcare, but she has been in senior living communities before and always felt she would enjoy planning activities and creating fun experiences for residents. She loves building meaningful connections with our residents and providing opportunities for them to laugh, explore, and make lasting memories. What makes Somerset Court special to her is the teamwork and dedication everyone shares in helping our residents live their very best lives. She feels grateful to be part of such a wonderful community and to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and staying busy running their family farm.

Courtney Jacobs serves as the Resident Care Coordinator at Somerset Court of Goldsboro. She has had the privilege of working in assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing over the last 24 years. She has always had a caring heart and passion for helping others, and I truly believe that caring for people is not just a job, but my calling. She loves making the residents smile, listening to their life stories, building meaningful relationships, and knowing she has made a difference in their day. The family atmosphere, being part of a team that works together to ensure every resident feels safe and loved is her favorite part of the community. Outside of work, She enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, listening to country music and good southern food.

Blakely Canady serves as our Dietary Manager at Somerset Court of Goldsboro. This is her first time in a senior living community, but she has been cooking for 20 years. She brings a passion for food and love for serving others to her role in the community. Blakely joined our team in the summer of 2026 and has enjoyed getting to know the residents and staff while helping create an enjoyable dining experience. She is dedicated to providing the best food and customer service at every meal. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the beach and loves Mexican cuisine.

Susie Strickland serves as the Area Sales Manager at Somerset Court and has been working in senior living for three years. Her favorite part of her role is building meaningful relationships with residents and their families, earning their trust, and seeing their faces light up when she walks into the room. Susie loves the sense of home and family at Somerset Court, along with the teamwork, dedication, and genuine compassion demonstrated by the staff every day. She believes everyone deserves to feel safe, cared for, and truly valued. Whether she is sharing a laugh with residents, joining in on a little fun, or simply serving as a resource for families, Susie considers it an honor and a blessing to be part of their lives. Outside of work, she enjoys making memories with her children and their golden retriever, traveling, photo journaling, participating in and attending sporting events, and expressing her creativity.
